Sundance Festival Trend

A big trend this fall was knit graphic sweaters like the two above. I love this casual look.

These are great transitional sweaters for this time.

My favorite movie at Sundance was For a Good Time, Call everyone should check it out here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1996264/

Miss America 2012

And the 2012 Miss America is....

Laura Kaeppeler, Miss Wisconsin

After watching the show I feel that it is well deserved, she definitely is beautiful and had a great response to the Good Morning America host Laura Spencer's question about political affiliation.

It was interesting that the last five contestants were all brunettes and that all but one (the winner) opted for white or off white gowns.

They all looked stunning, but I do have to say my favorite gown was the one worn by Miss California, who is the one at the far right. I love the long sleeve white gown, very elegant and different from the usual bedazzled gowns worn at pageants.

My Look of Today

I am starting to transition from winter to spring wardrobe.

I am wearing a vintage sheer high low dress in a chevron like print with black BCBGeneration lace tights that gives the feeling of mixing prints. I decided to wear a black BCBG Max Azria blazer because I wore this to work and had a few business meetings today.

I completed the look with my new BCBGeneration Stevie Pumps and a fur BCBGeneration scarf that gave the outfit more of an edge and added the more tonal colors.

Check out BCBG.com to find some of the items I am wearing.

Looks of the Day

The looks of the day are brought to you by Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie.

I wanted to demonstrate that you don't have to be a 5'11 model to be able to wear maxi dresses or maxi skirts!

Don't be afraid, just remember accessorizing is key.

Think about how you want to wear your maxi dress, is it for a casual day at the beach or a night out on the town?

If you want to wear it casually, make sure you get the dress tailored so that it fits perfectly with flat sandals, however if you plan to wear it to work or on a hot date pair it with some heels and maybe a leather jacket like above for some chic edge.

Spring 2012 Trend No. 3

The third trend is all about the SHEER.

It also continues from 2011.

Sheer tops, like the one Poppy Delevinge is wearing is a great look for a night out on the town.

However there are several woven tops that have sheer details that can be worn from day to night, like the second image of the denim top.

Lastly, sheer skirts are still evolving and a big trend for spring 2012, try a colored sheer skirt like the last image.

I love how she paired the high waisted sheer skirt with the cropped lace top that adds texture and volume.

No matter what kind of sheer style you try, don't be afraid to show some skin.

Look of the Day

The look of the day is brought to you by Olivia Palermo, my favorite socialite.

The look is flawless as always, Olivia never disappoints.

Sheer is a big trend that continues from 2011 and the way it is styled here looks amazing.

The choice of accessories is also great, especially the long green earrings, which add something special to an all black ensemble.

Don't be afraid to be a little daring!~

Spring 2012 Trend No. 2

Colored denim is going to continue to be a big trend for 2012, after a long hiatus, denim is back.

It is exciting to see the array of rainbow colors offered in denim this spring.

Check out J Brand, Hudson, or even BCBGeneration that has brilliantly created an inexpensive line of beautifully designed and made denim.

Look of the Day

The look of the day today is brought to you by Miroslava Duma, former editor of Harper's Bazaar Russia.

She is definitely one of my favorite moda-istas.

I love the colored denim, especially the fit of this style, Miroslava is tiny and the long fitted flair pant extends her legs, giving her a long lean look.

The woven top and color blocked jacket make the look very chic.

This look has two of the big spring trends and it is a great transitional outfit.

Spring 2012 Trend No. 1

The first trend of spring 2012, continues from 2011 and that is color blocking.

Color blocking is a big trend this season.

It is the small details of color that make for a unique design.

If you can't get yourself to wear the brights, try neutral color blocking or black and white.

Either way this is an easy trend that will be big throughout the year.

Look of the Day

Look of the day is brought to you by Rooney Mara, the star actress in the American version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo out now in theaters (I highly recommend watching it).

She is wearing a Rodarte x Opening Ceremony dress, another cute color blocking option.

I love the A-Line hem, which adds great volume.

The Prada mary-jane wedges are also amazing and go perfectly with the dress.
